La Viņa de Calpe This is a lovely olde-worlde type restaurant with attentive staff you get good Spanish and European cooking here and a parrot to keep you company. A good bar to take pre dinner drinks and study the extensive menu. Found on the right side of the Merced road, keeping the Hotel Esmeralda to your back. Cambalache The first Argentinian restaurant in Calpe tucked away up a back street but still easy to find, directly in the street behind bar Calpe with the original gents hairdressers on the corner walk up this street and take the first left and you will fall upon Cambalache the most tenderest steaks that I have ever eaten. La Regata To be found on the Levante/ La Fosa beach back towards the sea 100mts to the right of hotel Esmeralda. Oscars Named after the owner and his son this restaurant is only open through the summer months, such a shame as this has excellent food served by Oscar and his attentive staff.
